Maximizing the slow cooker is not that hard. You just have to think outside of the pot when you want to do a new delicious slow cooking. You just have to apply certain aesthetics on your procedures to do so. See the following tips to know how you can take advantage of your slow cooker:

1.)Do not fill the slow cooker up to the brim of the pot if you want to quickly cook the food. High levels of liquid and food will slow down the process of slow cooking.

2.)Fats will quickly melt when in the process of slow cooking and will also spoil the texture of the food. So, you can just remove excess fats from your ingredients. It is probably good if you leave essential fatty acids like fish fat etc. on it though for health purposes.,

3.)Remove the lid and cook it on high for the last 30 minutes of the cooking time to stiffen the gravies and flavors.

4.)To save money, use cheap meat cuts for slow cooking. This is suitable for slow cooking because of low fat content.

5.)Vegetables do not cook quickly like meats so put them at the bottom.

6.)Do not lift the lid when cooking. The heat escapes quickly from the pot that will cause a 20-minute cooking extension.

7.)Cook ground meats in a skillet first for better results.

8.)It is always practiced that you add seafood during the last hour of the cooking time. This is to avoid tastelessness and rubbery texture.

9.)Same goes with the spices and tender vegetables like tomatoes, mushrooms and zucchini. Add the spices in the last hour and the vegetables in the last 45 minutes of the cooking time to prevent them from being flavorless.

10.) Add small amounts of Tabasco sauce and cayenne pepper recurrently towards the end of the cooking   time. They will become bitter if they are cooked in long periods.

11.) Slow cooker is not designed for boiling so if you are required to boil liquid contents, just use 1/3 to ½ of it.
